Hurricane Helene Disaster Recovery for Members

Are you an AmeriHealth Caritas Next member who has been affected by Hurricane Helene? This page will be updated with new information as it becomes available.

AmeriHealth Caritas Next stands with our members during this period of hurricane emergency. AmeriHealth Caritas Next has implemented the following adjustments, beginning September 29, 2024, for all North Carolina members. We will:

  • Temporarily suspend policy cancellations due to non-payment of premiums.
  • Extend grievances and appeals deadlines for 30 days from the date they would have expired.
  • Allow early drug refills to ensure you do not miss any medications through October 24, 2024. If you need help finding an open pharmacy, please use the following link: https://www.ncbop.org/emergencyoperatingpharmacieshelene.html

AmeriHealth Caritas Next emergency policy changes are temporary and will expire October 30, 2024, unless otherwise noted above.

If your health care provider is unable to see you in person, AmeriHealth Caritas Next offers virtual care services at no cost. Get virtual care appointments with Virtual Care 24/7 with our telehealth provider, MDLive.

  • Apply for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency by visiting FEMA.gov⁠ or calling 1-800-621-3362 between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. daily.
